Tell us about your guild! :)
Hi all, doesn't seem to be a lot of us in this Emerald Dream forum but I love to hear about other guilds on our server so I thought I'd make this thread.  I'll tell you a little about our guild and hope everyone else will do the same.

Empire of the Dragon is a medium sized guild (circa  208 at the moment, about roughly 125-150 actual people.)  Our minimum entry level is 55 but we allow lower levels to come in if they have a guild member sponsor them.  We are basically a fun, laidback guild that enjoys doing things together whether that be questing, instancing, bg's, arenas or raiding.  Right now we're gearing up to start an actual guild raiding team (so far we've been doing some of the LK raids with some pug members but we want to have a guild team devoted to raiding.)  We operate under the direction of a Council (which will be 2 Co-Gm's and probably about 7-9 officers once our current elections are over.)  We are not a high pressure, hardcore guild by any means and we only ask members to participate and have fun doing whatever content makes them happy.

Well i just started a guild [Destination Devistation], the meaning of the name goes like this...The Destination we go to, theres gonna be some Devistation when we leave :D.

Pretty laid back chilled guild, currently looking for more people to join us. Hopefully in the near future we will do some raids, and tear up some battlgrounds lol.

Only 11 currently in the guild and accepting any race and any class, from levels 10-80.

Will also consider any and all suggestions concerning the guild.
Re: Tell us about your guild! :)

I just made this guild LegendsofStormwind, well I actually didnt make it but Its a pretty fun guild accepting all lvls. We are a fun laid back guild nice to each other as well. We are friendly to each other.

Joined a guild recently called Order of the Dark Legion.  It's a pretty cool, laid back guild with a lot of members who are on at various times.  We have people from all walks of gaming life and we are hoping to start getting into some events and raiding.  I'm hoping the use of this new site will help coordinate these things.

I just joined DEVASTATE and really like it so far.  I'm a pretty casual player (running WowStead keeps me very busy) and have been looking for the right sort of guild for a long time.  Most guilds I join are either full of immaturity, have nobody online in peak hours or simply don't talk whatsoever in guild chat.  DEVASTATE is none of those things so for a social raiding player like me, it's great. :)

Re: Tell us about your guild! :)
Farstriders is a guild founded way back in November of 2005.  I would consider us a light RP guild. We don't really have alot of planned RP events, just an informal campfire now and then. Most of our RP is just spontanious and not planned. Life isn't planned so why should RP?  We are based out of the Farstrider Lodge of Loch Modan. Originally we were formed as a hunting club. Everybody hunts, wether it be animals, riches, loot, or glory, everybody hunts something.

As far as membership, we have been down lately. We are a small guild but looking to recruit some more folks this summer. Guild chat is friendly, we ask that members stay away from l33t speak and generally not act like idiots. For the folks in the guild, Farstriders is a nice place to log in and shoot the breeze with folks, some we have known for years in the guild. We don't have alot of raiding, although some members dabble in it. We have characters at almost all levels, and have no restrictions on race/class/level.

Thought I would just update this as months have gone by. :)

Our guild is now about 265 players/160 accounts.  We did indeed start up a guild raiding team back then and we are presently progressing through Ulduar while also continuing to do weekly Naxx 25 runs with our allied guilds.  We currently have 3 allied guilds and I encouarge everyone to make alliances... makes the game much easier and more enjoyable. :)  We are also basically a social raiding guild and we have a lot of active members.   Check out the slideshow I put on our website. :)

Suggestion #1  look up how to spell devestation.  (I kid... look up "devastation")

Axiom has joined the wowstead forums recently.  We've been on ED for quite a while and are currently progressing through ToC.  We are what I would describe as a casual hard core raiding guild.  Meaning we're always working on the latest raid content, but we have a fairly laid back attitude, relaxed raiding atmosphere that's focused on progressing while having fun but centered around getting the job done.  Currently we still have to pug a few spots (usually dps) for ToC -25 but we're actively recruiting for those spots.  We usually raid from 8:30pm to 12pm server T,W,Th and then clear any unfinished raids on the weekend if required.

Our guild is similar in that respect Dangerclose.  Although we like to work on new content when we are able, we still like to continue chipping away at the older content too.  I mean I see on wowprogress.com that a lot of guilds that raid seem to have just stopped working on Ulduar now that TOC & Onyxia are here.  But I think most would agree that Ulduar is more challenging and even though the gear may not be the top gear in raids now, it still is probably the bigger challenge to complete.  I hate to see raid progression go unfinished especially with a challenging raid. :)

Re: Tell us about your guild! :)
Hello. I decided it was time for us to introduce ourselves.

My name is Galadrien, but most people know me as Risensavior. 'Bout a month ago, I created a guild called <Instruments of Chaos>. The core belief was that the guild was a place where one could enjoy WoW at its highest potential without fear of drama, bank ninjas,  etc. The idea clicked with a few people and so we started recruiting others who wanted that same idea. We are now currently at 85-86b members with 50 members being active. We raid Naxxrammas 25 and Ulduar 10 content and do For The Alliance! raids every week.  We are currently working on acquiring Vent, but we do have a 3 tab Guild Bank and, of course, a tabard. We accept all levels due to our core belief and so far we have not had to regret that decision. We hope to hit 100 members in a couple of weeks.

On a personal note, I have had the pleasure of running with Axiom, Raiders for Hire, etc. And I'm proud that those who are in those guilds respect us for who we are. And if anyone should need anything from IoC, we are here to help.

Pleased to have met you all,

Galadrien/Risensavior

Nice to hear about your guild. :)  I wish you good luck!  While I think there are several solid steps you can take to avoid ninjas, I'd have to say that wherever groups of humans congregate there will eventually be drama... unavoidable in my opinion... will happen at some point.  What I've learned (and our guild has survived about 15 months almost now and has lived through drama before and kept on thriving) is that it's how you deal with drama when it starts that is going to determine the long-term results.  Best lesson I've learned is to shut it down in the beginning by removing the root of the problem, even if you lose a few good members as a result (people may leave to go with friends even if they acknowledge you were fair in removing their friend.)  It's worth it in the end to avoid the much bigger drama down the line if you let things run their course.  Hope that piece of info. will help you if drama ever does start.  We recently had some start up and handled it thus and are very happy with the results... much more peace in guild than we would've had otherwise.

Well, so far I'm happy to say that we've not had to kick anyone do to drama. And with 115 members now, I'll take that any day of the week.
